Way Overdue Update on Somer mini albums!

I want to apologize to everyone for not keeping you updated on the status of the albums. I am so sorry for not communicating to everyone much sooner what has been going on with me. I now realize my lack of response has probably come across as looking rude and/or uncaring to some of you. I assure you that I am terribly sorry and did not mean for you to think that I don't care about your efforts in helping put these albums together. I know you have all done your part and are waiting for me at this point. I have unfortunately been very sick over the past several month and have been hospitalized numerous times as well. I just read the comment of a scenario of me putting together a rak that I sent and I want to say that it is very inaccurate. The reality of me putting that rak together was first of all that it took months to get it together, part of the rak was a boy mini album kit that I made back in march. The other things I did not run around and go shopping for, they were my belongings that I decided to give up since I have been too sick to craft and they were going to waste. I was happier to think that they were being used by someone than just sitting here. When everything was ready and in the box, it sat here for several more weeks and my dad finally took it up to the post office and mailed it for me. As far as completing the albums, they are very important to me still and they WILL be finished. I have had several of my friends here on YT offer to help me and I may be taking them up on their help to complete these albums. Once again i want to say that I am so so sorry I did not keep all of you updated and that I do appreciate all of your kind and generous contributions that are helping to make these albums possible. Thank you to all of you for your understanding and patience. I will post future updates here on my blog. Hugs, Sarah

Somer Jam

I went to the Somer Jam yesterday. It was a fundraiser to support the inauguration of the Somer Thompson Foundation, which is being started by Somer's mom Diena. Diena wanted to start this foundation to be able to reach out to other people who find themselves in a situation similar to hers. She also says she is here to reclaim our children's safety and innocence. The Somer Jam was a benefit concert with several acts: Hollywood Lovescene, Fit for Rivals, Something Distant, Shawn Fisher, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus & Molly Hatchet. At the end of Molly Hatchet's performance Abigail, Somer's big sister sang You Are My Sunshine at the beginning of the new Molly Hatchet song Fly On Wings of Angels. It was so very sweet! The song is absolutely beautiful! It was written in memory of Somer, it is very touching! I love it! I will post it in a minute, as I recorded them singing it live on my flip camera last night at the benefit concert. That way all of you can heqar it as well! You will love it! I also am going to post all the pages I received yesterday in the mail for the Somer memorial album for Diena! Thanks again to all you girls that have stepped up to make these albums possible! You all are incredible women! I love you all!!!

Thursday's pages!

I had just posted yesterday's packages and not even 2 minutes after I posted them the mail lady knocked on my door! I have packages from the following ladies: Mayra Nieves, Cindy Roderique, Ligia Avila, Terri Berrios, Tereese Simms, Jackie Anderson, Lisa Wolfe, Lilly Marquez, Dana Michel (taz61954), Leslie Prinkki (scrapsofmine), Claudia D'Alessander (66msclaudia), Isabel Boaz and Rosanne Carrillo roxycar11. Thank you ladies!!! You are all angels! If it weren't for all you kind and generous ladies this project would not be Much of anything. Without you it would have just been a book made by me, while that would still be a nice gesture it is not anywhere near the powerful message that these books will be sending to Diena! Diena will see that there are women all over the world that stand in support of her and are devastated as well at the loss of her precious daughter Somer. Thanks ladies you guys are incredible and I wish I could hug each and every one of you!

A Potential Cover for One of the Somer Albums

I made this page with white canvas covered chipboard. I sprayed 2 layers of tattered rose glimmer mist and then went over that with one layer of patina glimmer mist. This is how I achieved the pretty purple. Then I placed one of those tiny Tim Holtz masks in the bottom right corner and gently inked over it in tumbled glass using my ink blending tool. Then I took a stamp that is script with butterflies on it and inked it up with perfect medium and then stamped the top of the page. Then I went over that stamped image with perfect pearls in Forever Violet. Then I took a prima flower and pulled the tiny pearls out of the center and replaced it with an iridescent clear dew drop. I also cut the pearls off that were put on with hot glue and looked bad and replaced them with some nice flatback pearls by Melissa Frances. I put a Tim Holtz book corner on the top right corner and a piece of an e line prima pearl flourish in the shape of a butterfly in the bottom left corner. Then last I sprayed the entire layout with glimmer mist in pearl. So that's how I made this layout. Let me know what you think and should I use it as one of the cover pages if I add Somer's name it? Thanks for visiting!

Somer Memorial Album for Diena

Hi if you are interested in making a page for the memorial album I would be extremely appreciative and happy to accept your contribution! The requirements are it must be a chipboard page 6x6 double sided layout! The color scheme for the album is purple which was Somer's favorite color. Please don't punch holes in the page but please leave the left margin when arranging your layout so that I may punch holes and bind the albums so that all the pages are compatible with one another. You may also make a tag of any size as long as it isn't bigger than the page. Please try to include a card as well for Diena and her family and when you sign your name write underneath your name where you live. That way Diena can see how she is being supported all over the nation and even world, as we have had contributions from other countries! As I receive pages I will post receipt of those pages here on my blog. I will also try my best to notify you individually as well, but may not be able too as there are a lot of volunteers. I also am asking if it is possible for you to donate ribbons, lace or jute rope for help in binding all these items. Remember the color is purple so any purple, white, black or cream lace or ribbon would be great! Purple fibers have already been donated by Creative Fiber Arts! Thank you Terry!!! Charms are also needed and anything that you can think of to help me in binding and making covers and back pages for in the ball park of 10ish albums! I don't have an exact # of the volunteers yet as I haven't had time to count but will post how many contributors there are and a more exact # of albums I expect to have to give to Diena! I want to say thank you to all the wonderful and caring women who have stepped up to contribute to making this happen! I am grateful to all of you! You are all deeply appreciated! I will post any updates as they come up. If you have any questions or need my mailing address please feel free to send me an email at any time! It is sarahscrafts@yahoo.com Thanks again and I will be posting the finished albums on you tube and here on my blog!

Vintage Valentine Mini Kit

Hi everyone I am going to attempt to post the you tube videos that I did on my kit giveaway. I made two of these kits one to give and one to sell they are almost identical except the glimmer mist color in the one I am selling is cranberry zing which is a super gorgeous color. It is like a reddish purple with a gold glimmer, very pretty! And the charms are a little key with bling, a crown with bling and a small set rhinestone solitare. This kit is packed with tons of lace and ribbons 12-24 inches on most with a few 6 inches maybe like 3 of the laces, there is a ton of Tim Holtz accessories and some surpries (say it in crystals pink flourish, worn lipstick crackle paint, and more I guess they all aren't surprises anymore...lol There still a few more surprises left though!) The kit is super huge I got carried away! I will sell it for $65 which is quite a deal this includes shipping unless you are international then I will have to let you know how much it will be. I will pay some of it. This kit will be costly to ship as it is heavy, but I will pay domestic shipping! Happy Valentines everybody!!!

E-mail me at sarahscrafts@yahoo.com if you are interested. I accept paypal!

Vintage Valentine Giveaway Kit!!!!

Hi everyone I am new to blogging so bear with me as I figure all this out! I just posted to you tube a giveaway! I always watch all these you tube videos and just felt like it would be fun to do a giveaway in celebration of Valentines Day! I also am going to start putting kits on etsy. I decided this when I was putting together the giveaway kit because it was so much fun making the kit, I thought why not sell some kits on etsy! If I can figure out how to do it I will post some pictures on the blog.
